Dr Ziyanda Majombozi

Vice President


Dr Ziyanda Majombozi is a Lecturer at Stellenbosch University, where her research spans a range of topics including infant feeding practices, the care routines of working-class Black mothers, experiences of mothers affected by Tuberculosis, and teaching and learning experiences.

Her current work focuses on contemporary birthing practices, mothering, and care among middle-class Black mothers. Her broader research interests include reproductive, maternal, and child health; childbearing; care practices; motherhood (s); Black mothering; and the politics of reproduction. She holds an MA in Practical Anthropology from the University of Cape Town and a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Witwatersrand.
